- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Cut the thawed puff pastry sheet into 6 even rectangles, each measuring approximately 4x6 inches.
- Place one slice each of cheddar and mozzarella cheese centrally onto each pastry rectangle.
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, carefully slice the sides of each pastry rectangle into ½-inch wide strips. The center cheese area should remain uncut.
- Gently fold the pastry strips over the cheese, alternating sides to mimic mummy bandages. Leave a small gap to create the "face" area.
- Brush the pastry evenly with the melted butter or the beaten egg wash to achieve a beautiful golden-brown finish upon baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is impressively puffed and gorgeously golden brown.
- Remove the mummy wraps from the oven. Immediately press two olive slices into the exposed cheese area of each wrap to form the characteristic "eyes."
- Allow the mummy wraps to cool slightly before serving. Offer ketchup or marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
