Tropical Sunset Smoothie (Printable)

A refreshing blend of mango, passion fruit, and orange with creamy yogurt layers for a vibrant summer drink.

# Components:

→ Mango Layer

01 - 1 cup ripe mango, peeled and diced (fresh or frozen)
02 - 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
03 - 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
04 - 2 to 3 tablespoons water, as needed

→ Passion Fruit Layer

05 - 1/2 cup passion fruit pulp (about 3 to 4 passion fruits)
06 - 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
07 - 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

→ Orange Juice Layer

08 - 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
09 - 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
10 - 1 teaspoon honey (optional)

# Method:

01 - Ensure three clean blending containers are ready, or thoroughly rinse the blender between uses.
02 - Combine mango, Greek yogurt, honey, and water in the blender and process until smooth and thick. Evenly distribute the mixture into the bottoms of two clear glasses.
03 - Blend passion fruit pulp with Greek yogurt and honey until creamy. Gently spoon or pour this mixture atop the mango layer to form a distinct separation.
04 - Blend freshly squeezed orange juice with Greek yogurt and honey until smooth. Carefully layer this on top of the passion fruit layer.
05 - Tilt the glass slightly and pour each layer slowly, using the back of a spoon to avoid blending layers.
06 - Finish with a slice of fresh fruit or a sprig of mint if desired and serve immediately.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It's basically liquid summer in a glass, tasting like a tropical vacation you can drink before 8 AM.
  • The ombré layers turn something simple into a showstopper that feels fancy but takes barely any real effort.
  • It's naturally good for you without tasting like you're being virtuous about it.
02 -
  • Frozen fruit is actually your secret weapon here—it makes the layers thicker and more likely to stay separated instead of melting into beige soup.
  • The temperature of your blender matters; cold ingredients blend faster and stay more stable, so chill your yogurt if you have time.
03 -
  • Use the coldest ingredients you can find; straight-from-the-freezer fruit and chilled yogurt blend faster and blend smoother.
  • If a layer starts to sink, you've either poured too fast or your previous layer wasn't quite thick enough—next time, blend just a touch longer.
